A New York renovation company that depended on referrals and lead apps. Over 14 months, $28.8K in ads brought in 735 CRM-verified leads at $30.68 each, and 191 of them came with budgets over $10,000, adding up to $12.7M in pipeline.
Like most contractors in the city, they got work from referrals and from apps that sell the same lead to several companies. They wanted homeowners coming to them directly.
The first ads offered a discount. It worked, but clicks were expensive. A free renovation checklist did better and brought in people planning real projects, so we scaled it and dropped the discount.
Later rounds went after people who started a form and didn't finish, then past leads and visitors with a compare-your-contractor angle.

Each round built on the last. Cost per click fell about 75% from the first round to the third, and 83% of leads said they were planning a renovation.
We ran Google alongside Meta to check. Google brought in no form leads and seven calls at about $469 each, so the budget stayed on Meta.
